Story of “I AM” and a Little Girl on a Dublin Bus. A Lesson for all Adults from a 4 Year Old Irish Kid.
I wanted to share a story I heard on a double decker bus yesterday while coming back home from work in Dublin/Ireland. Could happen everywhere though. It was quite symbolic for me so wanted to break it into written words to make it “live forever” 😉
I’m on a bus yesterday and there’s a fairly young mum with a lovely, maybe 4 year old Irish daughter on a seat behind me. Little Girl is so full of life, curious about everything and then she starts singing a song with her adorable voice : “I AM MEeeeeee…that’s all there is…I am Meeeeeee…, I AM MEeeee..” – I thought – Wow!.. there’s a Sadhguru sitting just beside me Still so Conscious of who she REALLY IS. Like honestly – people pay for this knowledge going from one “spiritual retreat” to another in search of themselves… and yet here she is…a 4 year old little girl, with this still strong sensation of “I” being vibrating in her so consciously…still without masks of different versions of egos, without much conditionings, without structures and frames put upon her by engineered artificial social constructs, without fully built up personality that after all brings only confusion … There she was…happily stating I AM MEeeee….; And her mum couldn’t understand what she’s saying and was asking : ” Are you saying you are MEAN? No, Honey, You are not mean..”
Little Girl : ” No, mummy …, I am MEEEEEE!”
Mum: ” You are mean or me???”
Little Girl with her lisping English, trying to pronounce the words correctly: “Yes, I am MEeee. And I don’t want to follow any orders and rules” (honestly she said that!..omg – I thought – here’s a little version of me 😉 )
Mum: “Oooooh….I don’t really like the sound of that…”
The little girl giggled for a wile and went quiet as if she didn’t want her mum to be dissatisfied with her wish to be FREE… ( to satisfy her mum she would need to align, fit in, say what her mum expects her to say and what “all nice girls do” – obey and follow the rules, right ? ;/ )
I thought – how sad….
The mum for me in a way symbolised the system imposing chains on your freedoms and on real notion of who we all ARE. (the mum probably didn’t know any better, as she was behaved and grew up in this system of following rules, orders and not questioning anything and supporting status quo without even knowing how much enslaved she is in the first place.)
Little Girl was this fresh force, a symbol of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS, Awareness, pure “I” notion, being “ME” but “Me” as something timeless and infinite and not “Me” as a “person me” – coz this one is a mask, and not who we really are. You can have many masks, many faces, many personalities but inherently there is only ONE real You. Continue reading “Story of “I AM” and a Little Girl on a Dublin Bus.
